Rock paper scissors as social commentary is tougher than it looks. It took my wife two days to find a good Muslim "scissors" picture (I guess Muslim's don't care for the Peace sign much… I think miss “Hamas” suicide bomber was actually trying to signal for victory).
I hope it gave you a chuckle, but I had to make a point too. The truth is, that Islam's culture has failed utterly, and we've already won the war, it's just a matter of going through the motions and letting the clock run down.
But in the meantime, Islam might still create a lot of pain and suffering before they admit that it's over. That's a shame, and although it looks more and more likely to me that they'll do something tremendously stupid, I hope it doesn't play out that way.
Really, the best thing to do would be to do whatever it takes to stop them now. If we had carpet bombed Berlin in 1939 it would have saved millions of lives, but we didn’t have the courage then and we still don’t. The politicians of the west are the worst members of our culture, and are simultaneously of the poorest character, and have the least courage, so it isn't very likely. And with the media firmly cheering for American military defeat, it's hard to get the people behind it as well.
Life will certainly go on for the west, but it might cost several million Muslim lives, and tens of thousands of westerners as well. But the Rock, Paper, Scissors, thing seemed to call attention to the silliness of the arguments being put forth.
But I hope I'm wrong about the way it plays out.... we'll see.
