This means that the average person has 61.34% of all the work they do confiscated from them by the government. Can you believe that? Not only can they do whatever they like to us, but we're paying them most of what we make to do it.

The fact that Income Tax Freedom Day was way back on April 13th should tell us the enormous size of the whole we've dug.
Either taxes are going to have to be jacked way up, or the printing presses fired up (or both).
No matter what direction (aside from the crazy notion of spending cuts) we go, we're toast.
