I went to the DC Tea party with 4 other guys who were typical of the movement. One of them I've known for nearly 20 years and is one of the smartest, most clear thinking guys I know. The others are all highly skilled professionals who are very successful in their chosen careers. Our average IQ was in the area of 160; given that my buddy was there... maybe even more. I will put our intelligence and knowledge of any subject up against any 5 members of the Whitehouse Staff including Ms. Jarrett and Obama. I don't think there is any need for the Whitehouse staff to find a way to 'dumb down' their message for us.
There really is no limit to the hubris of these people.

Just brilliant. You either want their healthcare or your IQ is too low. I cant wait to see that healthcare for dummies booklet.
It actually reminds me of a conversation I had with my daughter's 3rd grade teacher a while back. She was close to retirement and had been mired in the educational system for decades, so her mind was pretty much reduced to mush.
As you know I have particular interest in conservation issues, and she had been teaching her kids that the Endangered Species Act was a wonderful way that the government saved animals.
My wife and I had a problem with her bringing in such a political topic to a 3rd grade class, and I had another problem with her claiming that the ESA was helpful when in reality it was hurting conservation efforts. It was being used by activists to launch frivolous lawsuits designed to prevent development, and that was causing property owners to pour gasoline down the rabbit hole rather than report that they’d seem some rare animal.
So we went into the school to talk to her about it and Eva would say “I don’t think it’s appropriate for you to bring such a political topic up in a 3rd grade class.” And she would look at us as if she knew she had to use small words and say “No… you don’t understand… this isn’t a political topic… it’s about animals.”
This is where I would hold my hand up and say “wait a minute… the endangered species act is a law not an animal. The intent of that law was one thing but the actual effect of that law was another. Since its results are so widely disputed, it very much is a political issue and you are wrong to present only the intent of the law and ignore the actual effect.”
In response she flashed me a look of amazement and then said even more slowly and condescendingly “No… it’s not a political issue…. It’s about animals.”
My point is, when you get so steeped in the belief that you are smarter than everyone else, the fact that someone else is demonstrably smarter than you becomes a fact that you simply can’t process. This was clearly the case with my daughter’s teacher and it seems to be the case with everyone in the Obama administration.
Their ego’s are so frail, and so dependent on the belief that they are the smartest people in the room, that they simply refuse to accept that they have no idea how to do … pretty much anything. their world isn't like ours where we are forced to produce results and test our wits against the effect of the work we do. If we are wrong all the time there are costs to that, but for them there never is.
As a result, they have become a ‘cargo cult presidency’. (I’m stealing that phrase.) They go through all the motions and follow all the forms but they can’t figure out why the planes don’t show up.
To some extent, they've decided that the planes aren't arriving because they aren't smart enough to find their cargo cult runway, or to understand the words that they say into the pretend radio they made from coconut husks.
