“To compel a man to furnish funds for the propagation of ideas he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical.”
Thomas Jefferson
NPR takes tax money from everyone, in order to present only those ideas that the intelligentsia agree with. It's a good thing they aren't as 'intolerant' as they claim conservatives are, or Juan Williams might have been drawn and quartered instead.
It tells you everything you need to know about this issue, that racist, evil, and generally unenlightened FOX NEWS has given the black liberal a 2 million dollar contract to say whatever he likes, while sweetly tolerant NPR fired (and later ridiculed him) for admitting to a liberal thought crime.
These are the same liberals that think government action should be based on what they think is 'moral', and that it should be powerful enough to compel us to act as they see fit as well. Sometimes I think we're much closer to the cliff's edge than any of us realize.

I wonder if Juan Williams was fired partly because he's black. If a white person admitted to having these anxieties on an airplane, that would be OK, because according to the multiculturists white people are all racist anyway, so it's better that they admit it. But when a member of one of the designated victim groups admits to having these impure thoughts, it doesn't fit the narrative. It's the "clash of liberal pieties", to borrow Jay Nordlinger's phrase, that made the NPR management so uncomfortable.
I'm not saying you aren't right, but I'm not sure I agree with your logic. I'm not convinced that any liberal would be excused of heretical thought crimes just because he's white. That's a much bigger sin in their world, if you ask me.
The black victimologists might have gotten in the act as well if he were white. But I think the real issue is that he had the temerity to think differently than them.
