This is not a statement about Obama's inner circle of supporters. A school in the bustling metropolis of Asbury Park NJ, (it looks like Beirut - right down to the Beaches) which was named last year for Obama, has been ordered closed because of a cratering enrollment.
It shouldn't matter to me as much as it does, but I can't help this feeling that the world is spinning on it's axis a little better today that it was last month.

Asbury Park as Beirut. More apt than most would realize. I live a few towns north of there, and am always amazed at just how crappy AP remains. Turned down an invite to a recent Christie event there, just to avoid it. RE: Axis spinning, agree. Hopefully a harbinger of things to come.
Asbury Park's beaches and business district have improved staggeringly over the past several years. Granted, much of the town is still run down and unsafe, but improvements don't happen overnight.
Boy they sure don't - especially when you're a graft soaked, union dominated, kickback leeching entitlement driven mess like Asbury Park.
It has exactly the same illness that keeps much of Essex and Hudson counties looking like an urban Mad Max set. It could be a really beautiful place - but for all the government.
