- Happy Birthday Dr. Friedman

I still maintain that all of our present economic difficulties are the direct fault of Milton Friedman. How so you ask? Well if he hadn't died.....

OK, maybe that joke is getting a little old.

My guess he is standing side by side with Hayek and Alexander Hamilton; all three utterly astounded by the levels of mendacity and incompetence shown by those in charge.

Boehner revealed during a radio interview that his plan only cuts $24 billion in the first fiscal year of the plan. So much for leadership...

Milton Friedman did a lot of good for liberty. No doubt about that. Unfortunately, he also did it a lot of harm. The monstrosity that is our present income tax withholding scheme was his invention. He was also a monetarist who believed that government should have the monopoly in the most important commodity on the planet - in money. In other words, he was sort of for freedom in everything - except the most important thing. Sad. Don't get me wrong, I'll take him over Krigman every time, but... Nobody's perfect.

Hamilton standing side by side with Hayek? What are you smoking??

Hamilton is a huge part of the reason we are where we are today, and I don't mean that in a good way. Read Hamiltons's Curse. Hey, read Anti-Federalist Papers, for God's sake.
