- A Note On Perry

I don't have a lot to say yet about Texas governor Rick Perry except this:

If I'm a single issue voter, then my issue is guns. Perry is strongly pro-second amendment, and shot a coyote with his Ruger LCP while jogging. So he's made more of a first impression on me than many of the other potential 'R column' candidates.

But with that said, I just can't bring myself to give a full throated endorsement of a man who once managed Al Gore's campaign... at least until he shows me something.

The thing I have noticed about Perry is that he seems more popular with those outside of Texas than with Texans.

Though I have yet to read anything comprehensive as to why Perry is looked at with a bit of a jaundiced eye by Texan conservatives.

Campaign Managers are mercenaries, nothing more. He gets high marks for acheiving that much with a candidate with such a tenuous grip on reality.

It's gonna be him or Mitt Romney who strikes almost everyone as fake and who refused to say "I made a mistake" when asked about the ObamaCare-like program he foisted on Massachusetts that has become all the disaster that its critics predicted.

Of course, people are tired of Texans are 8 years of Dubya, and the MSM will do its best to bolt them together.

Bottom line is that Obama -could- get re-elected.

London is possibly the most CCTV'd capitol in the world. As far as I am aware, a sizable portion of London's population concurs with their government's view that CCTV in public areas deters and/or aids in the detection and deterrence of violent crime i.e. assaults, muggings, riots, etc. If this assumption is correct then I wonder if they still feel this way. I wonder too if, huddled and hiding in their stairwells and closets, the denizens of these urban redoubts, don't ponder, if for but a second, whether giving up their firearms for a royal constabulary, was such a smart move. God Bless America, God save the Queen.

“I came to my senses,” Perry likes to say when asked about his Gore days.
