The most optimistic thing I've read for the American economy, in over three years:
A Democratic strategist said Obama has become such a problem for down-ticket Democrats that he was wary of encouraging candidates to run next year. “I’m warning my clients — ‘Don’t run in 2012.’ I don’t want to see good candidates lose by 12 to 15 points because of the president,” said the strategist.
Fonzi might not be barreling toward the ramp just yet, but he's at least warming up the motorboat.

I have suspected that Obama will in fact, not make it to the end of his first term. I am not suggesting anything physically happening to him.
If he becomes a big enough liability, we will be forced to resign or impeached. The implementation of such, will be from members of his own party.
I am waiting for some SHTF moment that Obama will REALLY screw up. IMO, the following are possibilities:
The Turks and the IDF start shooting at each other in the Mediterranean.
Egypt falls into starvation and chaos (I think this will happen in the next 18 months) taking most of North Africa with it. Fun happy times with war, slaughter, and interrupted oil shipments make things unpleasant the world over.
Major terror attack on US Soil..
I'm sympathetic but unconvinced. There is literally nothing that he could do that will turn the press against him. AS far as they're concerned he's Teflon. And without the press, impeachment will go nowhere.
Remember, people like him (progressive academics) covertly want to see Israel destroyed and the use of oil dramatically curtailed. Those would be good things as far as they're concerned, even if they can't admit it to the plebs. so what else can he possibly do? Some financial misconduct? (They'd never believe it) some sexual misdeed (who cares). He proves his poor character every time he opens his mouth and the press cheer him for it.
He's going nowhere until the election.
On tax increases, as the economy contracts - “Stupid, yes. Also dumb. But it is something I’ve gotta do.”

“Aaaaeeeyyy!”
From the article:
"The NRCC also put out a statement from House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.), the only Jewish Republican serving in the House."
With these guys, an appositive about a Republican is always a negative.
Tom,
Who would have expected a bunch of Jews in NYC to elect a conservative Roman Catholic that was once worked with Rush Limbaugh?
I think the press is losing its ability to influence events. Too many people now get their information from alternative outlets. They won't have the ability to cover for Obama (not that they won't try).
Plus I see additional potential SHTF events in addition to what I listed in my previous post. Events that will not be addressable by reading campaign slogans off a teleprompter. I expect my theory to be put to the test.. soon...
Tom, you're dead-on, as usual. It's why I read this blog.
