The NRA, the only political group of which I am a dues paying member, is concerned that if Obama is reelected he will 'pack' the Supreme Court with justices who share his vision for a America. As usual, I think they're right on the mark. the future of the court, is really the only issue that's a MUST accomplish in this election.
The spending, the deficit, Obamacare... those issue can all be dealt with in relatively small bites - or even if they can't they're probably going to be. But in order for that to happen we need the constraint that is offered by the constitution, and for that to have any weight at all - we need to keep the supreme court.
Just imagine the damage that could be done by newly appointed Supreme Court Justice Andy Stern or some other like minded revolutionary? Imagine what would happen to this country if the same people who brought you Acorn get to decide the what the constitutional limits of government are. Imagine class warfare and racial grievance codified into every aspect of the American legal system - even more firmly than it is now. that's what you get if Obama is reelected.
Seriously. If you're one of those people out there who is nominally on the right but claim you 'refuse to vote for 'insert candidate name here' then you better hope that the current justices are the healthiest humans to ever draw breath because if they don't outlast Obama's second term, the country is doomed.

Excellent point. My inclination at this time is to write "Ron Paul" in the space like I did in '08 but the stakes are too high, especially when it comes to the Supremes.
The Supreme Court is the -only- reason I held my nose and voted for McCain. The other was Sarah Palin.
It may be too late already. The Court has before it the most important case that we will see in our lifetimes. They will decide whether commerce power permits Congress to compel an individual to buy a product or service they don't want to buy. The misshapen way the Court has interpreted commerce power since 1905 has swallowed other Constitutional protections whole. I an not usually one to speak in sweeping terms about doom and gloom, but if the Court gets this wrong, we will see the rise of a Washington imperium that dwarfs what we have mow
Would a President Romney give us another Justice Souter?
would you prefer him to justice Andy Stern?
Make sure you ask the right questions here.
We got Souter as a replacement for Bork because Souter had no record to speak of - stealth candidate.
