In many corners the lilliputian mayor of New York, megalomaniacal Mike Bloomberg, is consdered a laughingstock. And the reason is things like this:

It's true, he's a nasty condescending little fraction of a man who gets his jollies bossing people around. But the problem with NYC is not Mike Bloomberg, it's what comes after him. The one good thing about Bloomberg is that he has absolutely no interest in anyone's opinion but his own. And NYC politics usually involves nothing more than the sock puppet candidates of various powerful political factions dividing up the taxpayer funded pie. Bloomberg may be a jerk, but he's an honest jerk. And for NYC that's a big improvement over business as usual.
When Bloomberg ran for his third term, he did so in open defiance of the law imposing term limits on the mayor. Typical. "Laws are for the unwashed masses not me." says the traditional liberal mantra. But as bad as he is, he makes the cast of characters waiting in the wings on NYC's liberal left look like a sideshow of mental dysfunction. With the war on the finance industry coming from Washington, things are going to change in NY. And I suspect no one will remember or care about Mikey's stupid law about soft drinks.

So we see a quick slide back to the nightmare days of David Dinkins? I remember that time. I used to refer to the trip to see my girl at Columbia University as "running the gauntlet". Crackheads, trash, chaos oh my!
Yeah I remember Dinkins too. He was the sock puppet of the racial grievance mongers, and accordingly he gave them a 'give back' in the form a less law enforcement.
But the next mayor could be someone owned by the Teacher's unions, or the Transit workers, or the IBEW and Steel (construction) unions. there is really no end to the groups that will want a slice. And whoever get's the prize is the one that gets favored. It doesn't have to be like it was under Dinkins.

It will be fitting because NYC has lost its balls as well as its attractive hetero-women.
You think back to all the damage Democrats on the national and local level have done to New York:
Arthur Levitt destroyed the future of a functional market, Client 9 saw Wall St down and decided it was fair game, Dinkins just didn't care, Obama while accepting Fat-cat donations has latched on to the anti-wall st sentiment.
You will never rebuild Wall St and a functional electronic market for either the NYSE or NASDAQ will never return.
I blame democrats for all these things, but I blame republicans equally for letting it slide...
Perfect - a woman mayor. So it will be givebacks to planned parenthood, fair pay scams, gender hiring quotas and strengthening sexual harassment laws.
If you're right (and I have no reason to believe otherwise) then "Man" is about to become a four letter word in NYC.

As I have said before--Bush handed this country on a platter to BHO.And the best we could put forward was another old white guy.Both sides have sunk us..The repubs have no one electable coming up...Ryan/Cantor will never get anywhere. They carry a good message now but too little too late.
As to obesity it is also too big too late.I guess I end with an equation for the little mayor that could.. Doesnt 16 ounces x 2 =32 ounces.???This is their answer for obesity?? So he will make you open 2 bottles instead of 1? Cutting edge stuff..No wonder we havent been back to the moon on 40 years..
instead of "I Love NY" as the logo, it will be "No Mans Land"
reminds me of those trolls in Orlando that are protesting the Boy Scouts for excluding homos from the program.
Can you imagine Charles Neslon Riley trying to teach a troop of boys how to start a fire or catch and clean a fish?
Or better yet: the poor kid with "two moms" has den-person that will try to teach boys the correct way to throw a baseball.

Some are "happy" and some are confused.
Saw last pm that 3.4 million NY folks have left for lower tax states. Maybe they all moved to be near Tom.. But eventaully the last lib standing without a chair will get tired of paying all the taxes by themselves and then just turn out the lights when you leave will have happened.

As much as Tom doesn't like Chris Christie, NJ is being spared from being "ME TOO!" NYC clone.
I feel sorry for Jersey folk, because the accordian effect of liberalism will snap the state back on the specious track to liberal nirvana, complete with public restrooms for those that have a hard time identifying with a specific gender (you can thank Corzine for that bit of civil rights...)
If we are all fat and stupid and told what to eat, then we a re maleable and easy to control.

I think Christie is the least bad choice in deep blue NJ. Nationwide however, I think there are lots of ways we can do better.
Ikaika..I have a friend that calls me IWBM.. Insensitive white bastard male... He says man is now a dirty word in America. We are a minority. We have been neutered and allowed it somehow.. I think we are to touchy feely but I am just one person.
As to NYC's french fries you have my most sincere apologies..Luckily I am 180lbs.When i was still taking call at the hospital i would get off late and bust my ass to get to MCD's before they closed at mn.After having been beat up for 18 hrs my comfort food were the x- large fries..Just fries...tons of salt.And I was relly in heaven if they said---sir it will be a couple of minutes while we make a fresh batch!!! Straight outa the grease.Hot. Dripping fresh fries...ahhhh

For many, it just 'feels good to do what you are told'. Or imagining themselves as the ones giving the orders. I have noticed the Left tends to fall often into one of the two above categories. I met a lot of the latter in college.
Maybe it is due to my introverted based iconoclasm, people like Bloomberg have always rubbed me raw, to the point I imagine myself punching them in the face.. repeatedly. Even as a kid, I hated the nanny-like school teachers that seemed to infest public school at the time.
Has the desire to be left alone and in turn, leave others alone become a rare trait in humanity?
