My Brother and I spent a few entertaining minutes texting the Wisconsin recall returns back and forth to one another last night. When NBC and Fox News Called the race 30% of the returns were in and Scott Walker was leading 59% to 41%. Thanks to the Democratic "Dig Up The Vote" campaign, the final total moderated considerably.
I was thinking about the national repercussions that numbers like those were signaling. That would have been the blowout of all blowouts. I was imagining Obama not only losing the election, but begin physically chased over the Mexican border Frankenstein like, by an angry mob bearing torches and pitchforks. Had those numbers held I think David Axelrod would have needed to go into the witness protection program complete with cosmetic surgery to change his appearance.
But Democrats will be Democrats (we know something about this in the garden state), and Wisconsin allows same day voter registration, so THOUSANDS of "new voters" managed to cast their ballots for the Democrat in the race. Walker won, but by a modest 9%. Enough for unambiguous victory and to signal very bad news for Obama, but not quite enough to conjure more colorful images.
Still, I think it supports the cheap veal thesis, and there have to be a lot of terrified people at the Whitehouse. Turns out that rising tide of progressivism isn't as popular as the people who would foist it on us imagined.

9% margin is still a drubbing.
Walker won by a greater Margin than the "real election".
Now you will hear the affirmation by the Democrats like DWS that "oh Wisconsin? that election was meaningless"
or they will try to spin the voter turnout as a positive for the DNC.
I caught Ed Schultz' rant that Walker was going to get indicted or some other nonsense. These democrat people are insane.
The lunatic fringe will demand a recount of the recall election. I guarantee it.
The action and the reaction do not bode well for team Obama.
Veal milanese indeed.
I don't doubt you exactly, which is to say I know they're capable of anything. But a recount of a 9% win?! I can't think of anything that would be more fun to rant about all the way up to November.
Maybe they can bring in Al Gore's Florida team and Jimmy Carter to 'monitor' the recount. Maybe a UN selected team from Sierra Leone can make sure all the proper Republicans had their hand's chopped off or something.
What a fun time we'll have returning to the Wisconsin recount results like Chevy Chase updating us on Generalissimo Franciso Franco's progress.
I can't wait.
And there are so many ways to serve veal!

Tom..Thanx for that new voter thing sameday thing.. I heard someone say turnout could be 117%???? and just couldnt put 2+2=4.... I was thinking Acorn had showed up with those dead voters again.Last night was a new one for me with actually seeing Schultz, Maddow,Granholm all whining in unison....
One last observation. I hadnt seen Jesse Jackson in awhile... He looked like he had just stepped out of the Mikey Jackson "Thriller video"..Zombies!!!!!!!!!!
Here is msnbc's spin on Wisconsin:
"Walker's saving grace might have involved voters who might have disagreed with Walker's approach to collective bargaining law, but felt it did not warrant his removal from office"
awww..., they are so fair
