- Snappy Answers to Stupid Questions

Over the weekend I glanced the Charlie Rose interview with Jeb Bush. Charlie doesn't like anyone to the right of Lenin. It seemed like Charlie was grinding or nashing his teeth during parts of the interview. You could see his jaw muscles tensing as he had to listen to Jeb respond to some pretty dumb questions.

Oh, that Charlie is a real crafty trixter... maybe the old "heartbeat away from the presidency" question will make Jeb waiver on his public endorsement of Rubio for Veep?

It's a tired question that is always applied to Republican candidates by "The Press". They didn't ask that question about Joe Biden... well, it's frighteningly obvious what a disaster that would be. Hillary did go that way during the primary and there was an audible gasp from the Greek Chorus Press: "How Dare Hillary make that assertion!!" we all remember it, and the conclusion that the press drew cannot be utttered in public by anyone outside the DNC, lest you be hauled in.

We were told everyday that Palin was baaaad for America because McCain was old - therefore "a heartbeat away from the presidency."

Jeb took the question, paused and pointed to the scoreboard in right-center field and promply thumped the question out of the park in that direction.
Paraphrase: Rubio is more experienced and prepared at this point in his carreer than Obama was at the time he ran for President... so why the long face Chucky?

Charlie then tried his best to blame W for everything from the economy to a recent bout of irritable bowel syndrome to chronic bromhidrosis. It's not Obama's Fault... really he just occupies the space...Jeb was a pleasure to listen to. He had a solid command of the facts - unlike Charlie, because well, if you were going to "interview" a prominent politician of course you would have done some kind of homework - espescially if you decided to argue/rebut a few points... wouldn't you?
Charlie skipped that part and even on the simplest TARP and Bailout stuff, he floundered. It seemed that he was searching for a stiff bourbon at one point.

This is the best that the left has to offer. But you know that if Rubio is tapped for Veep the left will be forced to eat their own colon in public. It would make a great media spectacle since the outspoken left "harumph- we speak for the least of our brothers" will undoubtedly be foreced to paint Rubio as a betrayer of his race or a dangerous kook, or Heaven Forbid ... (GASP!) a Latino could be a Heartbeat Away from the Presidency!!!

I have a friend of Mexican ancestry. He would always try to get a rise out of the neo-cons by stating that they were afraid of Obama because they loathed brown-skin people. It worked because some of these guys let him get under their skin with the baseless accusations. I would always tell him that the tables will turn one day, and the very same people that he "thinks" he shares a DNC identity with will be expecting him to trim their hedges on the weekend ... If a Latino rises to Executive ranks via the RNC...
Of course he reminds me that it will be a Latino long before an Italian.... lol!

Could you imagine Scott Pelley or Bill Moyers cursing at his landscapers the day Rubio gets the Veep nod?
A Rubio veep nod will be like dumping holy-water on Nosferatu...
