Because after a long time in the political wilderness, the tide of progressivism has finally begun to rise again, bringing with it a new age of unity, polity, and virtue to shine it's magnificent light upon us all.

Money.

I had never really give the issue much thought, but my wife has always believed that fundraising follows a strong political message, not the other way around. In other words the reason that the person with the most money wins is because the person who is most likely to win can raise the most money. I'm sure some 'expert' someplace has worked the numbers on this but since it's in no one but the politicians interest to make political campaigns cost less, they're probably keeping mum about the answer.

So as seen at the link above, the Washington Post is now talking about how Scott Walker is winning in Wisconsin because his message of evil has raised him so much money from the dark and nefarious corners of conservatism. And seeing his vast booty, the voters are falling helpless to his side like rats to the Pied Piper's song. But in this particular case I think it's clear that my wife's idea is probably more right. The fact that the union's neo-marxist warmed over 60's clap trap smells as bad to the public as the boots they wore to the original Woodstock, never even occurs to them.

I swear... they're such children.
