We might as well bring this talk up to the top of the page from the comments section. Condi Rice a minority woman with a PHD, and experience as Secretary of State. She's pro gun, but mildly pro-abortion. I have always felt she's more physically attractive than Sarah Palin, and she certainly is a more media savvy and a more polished speaker.
But I personally think she's nothing more than a disinformation effort. She's something for the media chickens to cluck over and a wildcard in the deck for the Democrat strategists to wonder about. We'll get a full weekend of talking heads asking Democrat and Republican staffers if they think Condi would be a good choice or not, and that's it. I don't think she'll really be the choice.
Not that I'm an expert at all - those are just my instincts on the issue.

Yep - Condi was a curveball designed to get the lib media in a frenzy.
I like how Romney returns the serve against the committee to re-elect Brak. They launch a specious shallow attack on his Bain records (public information, no less) he fires back with a Veep pick guaranteed to create knee-jerks!
The timing is great. Immediately followingthe NAACP "No-Show-Video", expect MSLSD like Maddow or Niles Crane O'Donnell to wax roth on the verge of klan-like performance.
Romney Rapid Response Team is razor sharp. I'm enjoying this campaign.
That's an interesting question... how does this discussion of Condi as a Veep pick prove that Romney is racist? (I mean - apart from the obvious part where he's still white and still running for President against Barak.)
In what new way for the MSNBC imbeciles does this demonstrate it?
She is not one of their blacks.
The dogs in the media will denegrate her and implicate her in the perpetual lies associated with W. The fact that she is multi-lingual, cultured (concert pianist) and knows foreign policy better than Hillary, Albright and Christopher combined will have these maniacs scrambling for a way to shroud their racism. They will slip. Chris Matthews will say something deplorable and Maddow will try to get away with a pseudo sexist smear or at least raise a challenge to her intellect.
pookie's toons had some good counter racist pics today:

I always wondered what happened to Pookie. Her posts were daily fare for me back in the day.
Ikaika you nailed it.She is not one of their blacks.
Neither is Sowell Nor Colin Powell.Nor Bill Cosby. And several other conservative blacks in Congress.
They would rather hitch their horse to Rev AL/Jesse...Several good ones on racist stuff today on looking spoon
The George Romney marching with the Civil Rights leaders should be made into a postcard.
Mrs. Romney floated a woman VP a few weeks ago, just when polling data seemed to show PA as impenetrable. This may be a signal that Romney has shifted from a swing state specific strategy. But I think your instinct is right - this might ne a diversion.
The recent Quinnipiac poll shows NFIB v Sebelius makes voters less likely to vote for Obama by a 15 point margin. Romney got good press from his NAACP speech. Now it may look like Romney will try to strip away some votes Obama takes fro granted. Obama will have to counter by moving left to shore up the base, if the threat becomes credible.
Rasmussen finds that Sixty percent believe job growth will come from business leaders who are focused narrowly on trying to help their own businesses grow, while 24 percent think decisions made by government officials focused on public policy will create more jobs.
Shoring up the base leaves Obama more exposed in battleground states like PA.
bwahahahaha!
Sununu has been on a tear. First schooling Juan Williams last night on how he should not perpetuat false claims... and now laughing-off Andrea Mitchell... You can see she is preturbed that he took her ridiculous talking points and put em back in her mush! Take a Report Andrea, Sold to You!

Team Romney - whether Sununu is on it or not - has bewildered the DNC at their own game! They throw race cards, he says go fish !
Frithguild,
Once again your expertise and vast knowledge in the area of political strategy has managed to make me just a tad uncomfortable in a totally non-specific way.
It's like knowing someone who is good at throwing knives. Even if you have no doubt that he's on your side, you still have to wonder where he got that skill and what exactly he plans to do with it in the future.

BHO may have peaked with the Latinos
That's why i was thinking Rubio
I like the guy if he really is what he seems..Lots of energy and I think he could surprise Biden in debates...But would it push Mitt over top in Florida?
Mitt has to carry at least one of Ohio or Fla.
Another factor to throw in the mix is the middle class tax cut issue. Obama is polling well on on extending the cuts for all but those over $250K. Romney strategists know well that Obama took the middle class tax cut issue from McCain and killed him.
We here know it when Obama took that issue from us it was a lie, but that doesn't matter. People don't care if politicians lie - they expect it. If you knock on people's doors and ask for their vote, you will come to understand this. Most people just screen out politics, so just a little validation for what they believe may be enough to get them to the booth.
Romney has to be deathly afraid of the middle calss tax cut issue because it is something Axelrod knows will work.
Rice as VP changes the subject.
Political campaigns are all about taking the opposition off message when they are succeeding.
Interesting - Romney email today:
So donate $3 today to be automatically entered for the chance to meet Mitt and his choice for VP in person.
The problem with the Obama Tax Extension proposal is that his own party is stalling any measure. Further - Repubs came out and said: "A speech about a tax cut is not the same as drating a bill."
Touche'!
I think very slowly Obama is becoming toxic within his own party.
The sensationalism that is the domain of the DNC is now being turned on them - artfully! They are big on the shield theory - or at least using someone else's body to absorb the ricochet.
Obama's recent goof: "I shoud have told a story..."
Is he for real? Burl Ives?
WTF? Not even Axelrod could spin a positive out of that. But expect Romney Rapid Rsponse to equate a yearn for Story Telling with habitual lying.
Is this the best they can offer?
The party that brought us Joe Biden.

I'm laughing like Max Cady right now.
Reid may be stalling the vote on the rate extension to keep the issue fresh. These guys often know several days early before the opposition makes a defining move. They all swim in the same pool.
At present, Romney is being underestimated. He comes off all nebbish, but he is a "killer," make no mistake. He understands the campaign game and media manipulation from experience, unlike most politicians who just want to sound like the smartest guy in the room. Ask Mr. Newt, Rick Perry, or any othe candidate.
What anybody in the media is saying makes no difference. They are speaking to their audience who are already enthused and decided and buying the products that are being advertised.
The audience the presidential candidates must target are in the swing states. The more successful you are at defining your opponent, the easier it becomes to control your message which should dispirit your opponent's likely voters.
Frith. agree but I dont watch much live tv.Has Mitt been doing much offense?.. All I see are the jabs that BHO puts out. It seems to me(I could be wrong) that Mitt hasnt gotten on firm footing yet.Everytime he brings the audience back to the economy the BHO crowd lobs another distraction out..
Maybe I need to sart watching more mainstream nedia and keep an eye out for Mitts commercials
Palin thinks Condi would be a good VP - this is a full court press - guarantee to take up 3 days of the news cycle, replete with moon battery now that Sharah has weighed in.
But can she bring California with her ???
I must be sobering up to have said that...More bourbon stat.
