- The High-Speed Nonsense of Ray Lahood

This is a clever and worthwhile piece about the impossible fatuousness of Ray Lahood. Lahood says a lot of stupid things even for a politician, and he's being called out on it. Let me call him out on another. As quoted in the piece Lahood says:

“Two years ago, between 50 to 60 Republicans were elected to the House of Representatives to come to Washington to do nothing, and that’s what they’ve done and they’ve stopped any progress. Those people don’t have any vision about what the government can do. That’s been a real inhibitor in our ability to think outside the box and think big”

Mr Lahood, you have it all wrong. Those people were elected to make sure that government only does those things that it can do well (which is virtually nothing), or that it is specifically authorized to do in the US constitution. You people and your supporters are already so far off that reservation, that to you it looks like all they're trying to do is obstruct. But what they're really trying to do is to stop the ship of state before it strikes the rocks. If they manage that herculean task - a task that YOU are the one trying to obstruct - then maybe we can talk about getting it back on course.

The Leftists in this country (like you Mr. Lahood) are so concerned with their own self aggrandizement that they have put the future existence of our Republic at risk. And at this point, allowing you to 'speed up" the already reckless pace of "progress" is tantamount to giving a child a loaded gun. You are (as a group) dangerously deluded about how the world works, and have no business being so free handed with the hard earned wealth of others. Especially when you so obviously plan on wasting it.

In short Mr. Lahood, those people were elected because we think you and your kind are dangerous imbeciles who need to be restrained. It's our money you're spending, and we want you to stop. Your ideas are not good new ideas. They are ideas which have been tried countless times in the past and have failed every time. So shut your yap and go sit on your hands until your boss gets fired in November you dim witted blowhard. We don't want any more of what you're selling.

What a doofus.
I want more of these idiots to "vocalize" or "act out" as it were, so the rest of the US Voters can see the malignancy.

Feel free Chess... but they don't dare show this sort of hostility. Whatever the substance they'll tone down the style.

Careful about identifying cause and effect. I can't talk about specifics, but my strategy has a very low correlation to the market. Down market days are as likely to be profitable for me as up days - sometimes much more profitable.

My hostility is purely a function of my combative nature, and obnoxious personality. And there was something about how obtuse that guy was which just got on my nerves.

I do wish the Republicans would steal that 'obstructionist' reversal though - or at least the Tea Party spokespeople. I think that's a useful point.

If you want a light reading piece this goes to show how entitled our "heroes" have become

And I wish i was better at minimizing the downside in the market

November can't come soon enough. Mencken was correct that in a democracy we get what we deserve, sometimes good and hard....
Agreed, doofus is kind.
