CNBC has arrived at it's much touted 'delivering alpha' conference where they have claimed they will be speaking to all the leaders in the "alternative investment" space. (That refers to Hedge fund and private equity managers - "levered" investors like me.) So who is their first guest? Damon silvers, a special counsel to the AFL-CIO.
Not an investment or pension manager. Not a strategist. Not anyone who has any direct stake in the returns of the market, the products, or the industry involved in the conference. Just another political union blowhard who has good contacts at the New York Times. What a waste.
It would be just as helpful to their audience to interview the 'Occupy" protesters standing outside, except it's only 6:00AM and as we know from past experience,
dismantling fundamentally transforming an entire civilization is pretty hard work so the protesters don't usually roll out there until about 10:15 or so. At least the union hack had the decency to get up early.
