Since our domestic news services are completely in the tank for Obama, it's impossible to get them to tell us anything of substance about him or his campaign. They simply can't be relied on. Since that's so, over the last three years I've gotten in the habit of reading the British newspapers about our dear leader.
This business where Obama insulted America's entrepreneurs by saying that the government was the people REALLY responsible for their success wasn't reported on anywhere that I could find at CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, Reuters, the UPI, The NYTimes, or the Washington Post. It might be there someplace for credibility purposes, but if so they probably buried it.
Besides, they probably felt something like that wasn't nearly as big a deal as the potential that that well known scofflaw Mitt Romney might have 'walked on the grass' once in college when there were signs posted clearly telling him not to. I'm sure the Boston Federal DA is pondering criminal charges still.
But the Daily Mail has reported on it, and has reported the response of the National Federation of Independent Business besides.
From my perspective as a flavor of entrepreneur, it feels to me like Obama and the government have us all surrounded. They are moving in for the kill with taxes on one hand and regulation on the other. And when that doesn't work, the Justice Department just sues you or works up some trumped up criminal complaint about discrimination or the environment. They're already sure we've broken some regulation someplace, it's just a matter of finding the right thing to charge us with to get us back in line with their agenda.
So I think it's fitting that the NFIB can be more or less paraphrased as giving Obama's claim a response similar to the one originally offered to the Germans by Brig. Gen. Anthony McAuliff when they had him and his Division surrounded at Bastogne. In a word... NUTS!
