What I wouldn't give for an honest debate on anything from the left.

You want to ban guns... all guns, like they have in Britain? OK, propose it. Let's debate repealing the second amendment in its entirety. Let's weigh the virtues and costs of a policy like that. If in their wisdom the American people look at all the fact and decide to disarm the populace, I'll hand in my guns too (right after I eat my hat). But quit pretending that you don't really want it. Have enough respect for the people you work for to be honest with them about what you want for them.

The same with other issues. Taxes? Immigration? Abortion? Tell us what you really want, and open the discussion in the field of ideas. Quit calling people racists and hate mongers every time they disagree with you. Quit all the distraction and diversion. State your goal plainly, and let the people really decide. If it's that noble a destination, why don't you trust the masses to decide on their own to go there?

I'm so sick of being lied to and having the facts distorted and twisted. I'm so sick of the constant slurry of empty rhetoric from Washington, and the left, and the press. Can't anyone on the left just tell the truth on purpose for once? Why is it the only time we ever get any honesty out of you it's when someone on your side goes off the reservation and speaks out of turn?

You know Tom... it really seems 'different' this time. It doesn't look like the power-that-be will be satisfied with a few restrictions based on cosmetic qualities of a particular gun. With the state of NY taking the lead and the murmurings in DC, it is looking more and more likely that Obama & Co. may go for broke:

Pass laws that will attempt disarm outright disarm us.

Hell i sort of agree. Not sure about total disarming but pretty close.
The man has never been told no and when he has hes run over them..Evntually you have to hope hubris melts the wax on his wings and he crashes.. But I wont hold my breath for that. Not in this country.
Sad.

Singing on to an anti-gun bill of any kind is a political suicide attempt for reps of either party. I continue to be convinced that the NRA will stand firm against incrementalism, and we won't see anything nationally.

I even think Cuomo's rule is unconstitutional and will be overturned eventually. but that will take time and money.

Then again, I've been wrong before.
