I can't think of a more blatantly transparent political bait and switch than the silly discussion of "Universal Background Checks".
Everyone just loves the idea.
"Well how do you expect us to give you the background checks you want without giving us the power to do it for you?" Our slime ball lying "political leaders" and press propagandists will say.
I hope the NRA gets on this issue before NY, NJ, CA, and IL all implement it, because it will be a big inconvenience for me. I'm not so worried about seeing it happen nationally.
The whole trick for the totalitarian left is to find a way to say the thing they wanted all along in a new way that polls well. They then get the press to endlessly chime in that it's what 'everyone wants'. This is the best example I've seen in recent days. Had Obamacare ever tested over 50% they'd have said it about that too. But in this case it really isn't the background checks they're after, it's universal firearms registration. This is just a warm and fuzzy way for them to say it.
The incremental march to totalitarianism rolls ever onward.

Man,
The Shrewsbury River is going to go over her banks with all the guns and ammo lost in boating accidents in the coming years/months. Probably should tell those waterfront to sand-bag.
Yeah, I have to remember to tell you guys about the fishing accident I had about 3 months from now. I don't know why I brought the guns with me. Just think of all the grief that could have been avoided otherwise.
I thought you lost them during Sandy like everyone else?
There was so much going on at the time who can recall.
Yes, Bruce Springsteen will be putting out an album about the responsibility of disarming... and all will be right in the world.. "BRUUUUCE!"
My dog ate my mossberg persuader.. Really!.. She shit it out and it was worthless. Threw it away. She then ate my 40 S&W. Seems she has pica for firearms.. Bad dog.
If you play that Bruce album backwards it actually says "Mike Bloomberg is the Devil."
Message to Schumer:
"Bazinga."

In Canada the registration in part failed because of civil disobedience. People registered water pistols, their pets, anything that would overwhelm the system (it did).
