Most of the 230 protesters arrested during Donald Trump’s inauguration on Friday will face charges of felony rioting, a crime which carries a maximum sentence of a decade in prison in Washington DC.The 217 alleged rioters – who could also be hit with $250,000 (£200,000) fines – appeared before Washington’s Superior Court throughout Sunday.
This will certainly disincentivize more tantrums on the left, and that's all this really was. As angry as these kids were, they were greeted with overwhelming force, and there was never any question of the riot spinning out of control. They broke a few windows, threw a few rocks, and set a car and some garbage on fire, and that is enough to make a riot and not a "peaceful protest" as the press would have you believe. Prison is probably where these kids deserve to be.
But the issues they imagine they're resisting are fictitious. They are delusional children fighting an invisible monster that only they (and the Democrat water carriers that make their idiocy so useful) can see. They don't know that they're just tools of the powerful who want them to be angry in order to sow division, and to let them stay in power in the process.
But the good news is that it's going to be very hard to mobilize large scale protests over imaginary problems, when anyone who joins in faces the full force of the law.
