- This May (Tragically) Prove Handy

I had an email exchange with an old friend this morning, an immigrant from Germany. In the process of discussing personal and off topic, he introduced me to the following German colloquialism:

"To make something worse in an honest but failed attempt to improve it."

I now feel fully prepared to comment on the Republican effort to replace Obamacare.

Sadly, I also do not have much faith in the GOP Congress to get healthcare reform right. I think most of them are just not smart enough. And the ones who are not that smart seem to be the strongest ideologues. Ideology is fine as long as it doesn't blind you to reality. I doubt these guys would be one Trump would pick to reform healthcare if he had a choice. That goes for the Dems too.

I think Trump was right during the campaign when he said that the people representing us were no good, dumb etc. They are mediocrities who would not reach the top in the private sector. The Clintons are supposed to be the A team of politics. But she lost the presidency twice to political amateurs.
